Style is the Name of the Game
Produced at: Radley Studios
Client: People.com
My Role: Writer, Producer
Work: Digital Content
Overview: With Awards Season in full swing and the Super Bowl fast approaching, People wanted to create some digital content to drive traffic to their site. I paired with another writer and was tasked with creating a football-themed fashion web series, featuring 4 different Hollywood stars, and I took Julianne Moore and Felicity Jones.
Challenge: I wouldn’t even dare care myself a fashionista, so writing about fashion and style is out of my wheelhouse, but luckily I know a lot about football so the two balanced each other out. We didn’t have hosts locked in until the last minute, so we couldn’t really write anything specific to the talent. This was also completely new territory for People.com so there was no precedent to reference.
Approach: We came up with different themed segments that would fit any celebrity, and kept the hosts’ lines rather generic in case there were any last minute changes. People wound up locking in Louise Roe and Queer Eye’s own Jonathan Van Ness to call the “action.” We let the hosts ad-lib as needed to add some personality, and added some simple football-inspired graphics in post to drive the theme home. Everything came together super fast!
